essay(2) (26th of Oct)

Stage 2:

• To my assumption, I could have get my essay done by today
• However making sure everything is right, keep changing concepts as well as some bits within every paragraph have taken me a longer time to just write a few hundred words
• Well...because I would like to do this editing at the same time...even though it's quite troublesome 
• And I haven't fixed two of my appendices yet...questions and answers are needed to be changed since some of them don't match up with the content with my essay anymore 
• Come on...you can finish 2000 words for others in just a few hours, but when it gets to my own work,  I have already spent more than 3 days to do it and it's still a long way to go...
• Well...not that long..but maybe a minimum of another 10+ hours? 
• I'm just hoping that I am not dying after I come back tomorrow...Knowing that I still have to get that 1/3 of essay finished, then it's a must for me to prevent myself from all those distractions out there including talking to people...
• man...I already woke up at 6 this morning just for that essay, and guess what? I woke up at 6 naturally...yeh you think that's scary? So do I. How can someone like me waking up naturally at 6am...
• Nocturnal animal is on her way to get a healthy life back...
• Anyways I have found out something: whenever I come back from a meal, I need to take another half an hour break at least to put my focus back on work...  concerntration...concerntration and more concerntration!!
• Lastly...the speech 'The power of speaking' by the second orator who I have been worshiping throughout that whole show did a great job improvising on the stage. Despite the fact that she didn't win the show, she has won the whole audience..

essay(1) (25th of Oct)

stage 1:

• My day was quite ordinary
• been thinking about what argument should be the best to fit in my essay
• I've got too many ideas but I can only pick one of them
• Too hesitant to put something down and when I really did put something down, changed bits and pieces for so many times 
• I hope I did use my time wisely so I can get up to my plan that I set for myself today
• But the good thing is: I finished that list of questions for the first appendix, also a transcription of an imaginary interview for the second appendix (it takes two pages and more...don't know if that's too much)
• But I don't think I made everything as specific as he asked us to do, so I may need to change two appendices again when I wake up tomorrow
• I seriously didn't have that much breaks 
• My only thought is to get it done asap while it has to be up to my standard
• ok...I feel like I am constructing an essay plan here in my post=.=
• And I don't feel quite well, maybe I have been looking at the screen for too long or I've been thinking about my unfinished work too much? 
• That hot and cold feeling, even during the time when I had my dinner with mum...
• Sleep really soon so I can get up earlier tomorrow morning...
• I am trying so hard to be healthier these days..I hope I am getting there..  

Lect, Tut, Essay..nothing else(24th of Oct)

24th of Oct

• Surprisingly I wasn't that late for the last lecture. For that one hour lecture, it was basically about an image analysis of Olympic store...
• Talked to Jodie a bit after the lecture finished..she got high credit for that exam, so I am not sure what I got since I didn't go to the tut last week
• Then met up with Shabrina afterward. That 40 minutes were so productive checking each other's work. Charmaine(didn't really know her name til this last tut lol) came and sat with us...She said she hasn't started her essay yet, Shabrina seems like the one preparing a lot just incase if the tutor asked. I only did my intro but not even sure if my structure is right...Ailin and Gwinny came, the first thing Ailin asked me was about the essay lol Knowing she has done 1500 words, I was like WOOOW...Then she said...yeh 1500 words of gibberish=.= haha
• After the class opened, we entered, I couldn't spot where Cady is. So I sat with Shabrina and Charmaine. Anyways Robert, this perfectionist, once again taught us how to do a perfect media essay step by step. He expects too much from us and that he wants us to make everything SPECIFIC, also the length of essay MUST be between 1800 and 2000, either a bit under or over will affect our mark, even just one or two words under or over that is...=.= And he read some of our introductions, he either said the argument is not strong enough, or our structure is not quite right...
• Lastly he asked us to line up to get our exam mark, claiming that a lot of people failed this time, over 60's already considers to be really good...Everyone started to look so nervous.
• Cady held my hand and said she's scared...but then she ended up getting over 60's>.>
• One of my friends failed miserably tho, her eyes immediately went red and shed a few tears>< ...I hugged her tight and said dw, we still got the final assignment yeah? do well in that one, you will be fine!!
• I wasn't any better, just a pass....but at least I got a pass...
• After I came back home, I started re-doing everything just to meet his expectation. I talked to quite a few people on Fb in order to make sure if I am on the right track. Enoch said he's done half because he's still got a few assignments coming up lately. 
• I was told that Nick was waiting for his performance when he answered some of my questions for my assignment
• Lastly I can't stand that somebody's busy life and he takes an hour or a few hours to get back to me. Waiting, waiting and more waiting...So I decided we can just meet up after this sem, it's good for him obviously as he doesn't need to spare any time to meet up with me while I can concerntrate on my work..

Say no to last min work...

23th of Oct

It's better to start my 2000 words essay earlier as I don't want to regret later. Today I went all the way to uni just to do my essay. You call this dedication? Actually I don't even think I have dedicated THAT MUCH since I only started writing my intro after 1pm...

I shamelessly say that even though I didn't do much in the first 3 hours, as in I wrote nothing but read so many academic readings >.>

And then had a further discussion with Ailin about how we should structure our essays and what the appendices are about..Later Shabrina talked to me after I got home, seems like texting is really one of the main issues in mobile culture. I don't really receive as many texts as I would have unless we have exams and assignments...hahah

Somebody is too busy to even get back to me...I was gonna ask him for help as I said before, but oh well...I think I just gonna do more research to figure out my own interview with an imaginary interviewee then lol 

Tuesday (22nd of Oct)

• She took my refusal to go excursion with her as I don't wanna spend happy family time with her
• I felt regret that I shouldn't have told her what I really wanted...
• Talked to my friend in the US for two hours. We had a deep talk about life again as always, he even showed me some articles he wrote for the application
• His ideas are actually quite impressive despite the fact that he has only been there for 2 years
• He then started to imagine how uni life would be like from how I describe it. As he wants to get in the business faculty, I recommended him to apply for some uni in Syd
• Btw...I am planning to do one or two courses during the holidays
• lol another lame post=.= 

21st of Oct

• Panpan and I were both late this morning, but still he gotta wait for me for another 30 minutes>.>
• He gave back my red no lens glasses 
• Even though I skipped this last lecture in this sem, I didn't do much in the library within that 1 hour because I had a really bad stomach right after I logged on the computer...Then I spent more than 20 minutes in the toilet
• After I came back, it was nearly 11. My friend Michelle asked me to go to meet her up at the entrance of the library to get that 200 bucks 
• After I got it back, she followed me up to level three as she gotta wait for her friend til 12
• During that one hour, we were sitting together watching a Japanese Band's electronic dance videos
• I told her that I would have much more leisure time at the end of this month, so she can give me more essays to write
• I was also waiting for Vicky who asked me to go and visit that international house in the campus together
• Then I led Michelle to that building and went to look for international house with Vicky
• It seems like every access was closed, you can't get in without an ID or something. So I actually knocked on the door to get someone's attention and to open the door for us
• We got in, that guy asked us to go to the office
• That old guy let us to have free meals in the canteen
• We looked around, wanted to ask someone to tour us around 
• Everyone seems to know each other quite well in there. There was this girl sitting at the same table with us and she just randomly talked to a Norwegian girl next to her who's also having lunch there
• So Vicky was brave enough to ask that girl to walk us around. She then introduced a few of her guy friends to us
• Two guys voluntarily walked us around
• The facilities there seem so well-equipped. The little room resembles a study room with 7 or 8 tables inside; a laundry with more than 10 washing machines and dryers requiring scheduled time to use; a large canteen with large quantity food supplies; a piano room that can block the noises outside; a student meeting room for social gathering; a medium sized gym; another small room serves as a mini cinema room for a group of people to watch films; a large room for entertaining purposes and multicultural exchanges functions, there is a corner for performance, two pool tables are situated at the centre, they told us they would have a gathering to promote cultural value by exchanging the ideas of cultural differences weekly
• They also hold so many different activities weekly, maybe that's why everyone here knows each other. 
• Then those two guys introduced us to their friends. One of the girls thought I was also the resident next sem, in fact, I was just going there with Vicky to visit her new place lol 
• They told us they are allowed to bring the visitors other than the residents there, so Vicky said she would invite me to every event held in international house from now on, and then those two guys' friends also said they can invite me to go watch horror films next time
• Later on, those two guys showed us their rooms, we followed them to walk up to level 2 and 3. People's names and nationalities are labelled on the door and I was amazed that I finally found a place that is gathered with different nationalities for the first time. This is one of the dream places I always want to go. There are more than 30 to 40 rooms at the male's side in level 2 yet there is no one from the same country. International house, indeed, really international, it's named as it is
• Anyways those two guys' rooms are quite messy. We did ask if we should stay outside and wait for them to clean their rooms first...
• Guys are guys....I saw stickers, posters, books, clothes were all spreading across one of the guys' rooms, lucky I didn't spot any sexual related stuff or else I had no guarantee I wouldn't laugh at him
• Another guy's room is much better, but this patriotic person has a national flag on his wall, I just found it quite odd...
• So that was a really good experience visiting such a place, my dream place to live. 
• After that, Vicky thanked for my company by shouting me a froyo. We shared a big cup of green tee flavour, I wanted to ask that guy to add as much toppings as he could, Vicky then stopped me since she thought that would be too much for two of us to finish them
• We then talked a lot about degrees and jobs. Well....as I am getting to know her, I just realized that she's one of those musically talented people from what she told me, such as two or three instruments have reached the professional level
• Talented people are everywhere... 
• Anyways, Vicky and I headed to the main library and study after that
• Yes...After been having too much fun from that little journey in the international house, it's time to get back to the reality...That assignment would be due at night and I only started doing it after 4pm lol
• I didn't get to finish it til 11pm
• And I didn't go to sleep right after I finished that assignment...Why? because this is how I am...I felt that I needed to have some time to relax myself after a few hours of hard work
• So when there was someone I haven't talked to for a long time greeted me online, I talked to him for another one or two hours...
• And I finally watched the film 'Young style', which is one of the most charming films of its kind because it has reminded me of my high school life. Its theme is in favor of relaxed spontaneity, teen crushes and those hilarious schoolboy friendships. But most importantly is that the film truthfully portrays the protagonist's coming of age under his growing acceptance of his mother's expectations, his puppy love and that one year of torture from a teacher's tough love
• To conclude...People who are extremely rich or well-connected still play a big role in today's society..

Promise..(20th of Oct)

• I don't make promises but I made one with a kid today
• Seriously, it's much harder to tutor a kid than a year12 student, much much much harder because you need to use humor to maintain his interest in every lesson we have
• In the last 30 minutes, he wasn't really concerntrating anymore but in order for him to get back to his creative writing, I had to be acting like a clown entertaining him...=.=
• Then I also made pinky promise with him because he was so fearful that I might tell his mum about how he behaved in the last 30 minutes
• Btw, this is my day..nothing much happened
• After I got home, I was so exhausted already
• Even though I have planned to get that 1500 words done by tonight, I couldn't even get it started
• Procrastination: been looking for good songs, checking some info of a movie
• lol...cramming that 1500 words and everything tomorrow....woooooo
• this craziness ;)
