Long story short :)
My first tut was awesome. I was observing who could be my best partner before I went into that class. Then a brownish girl (nationality unknown) who came and sat next to me before the classes started. Yup...My first friend ever in this semester lool Her name is Kiah. She told me that she has learnt French before, and she's also the third year here. Our tut was quite lively. Fukui Sensei is as funny as the lecturer who knows how to get the whole class to participate. Our small table was one of the noisiest because there was this filo girl acting so funny all the time. Her friend Daniel, and another Daniel who seems quite active to answer the all the questions given. I saw this big guy who was sitting next to me in the lecture the day before and now, he's also in my tut. The tutor was trying to correct his pronounciation when he said shitsureshimasu because the way he said was so cute. haha
My media seminar was not bad. Our lecturer, is also our tutor who seems quite nice. I remember I complained quite a bit of his outline which consists 60+ pages. But as I have experienced the way he taught us today, I think he's right, this course does require for a super long outline for a reason. The speed dating thing was meant to make friend with some new people and explore the terms/ concepts etc the readings and lectures have mentioned. However, most of the people ended up having a random conversation knowing each other first when both of them had no idea what the concept is about. There was this guy told me that he skipped lecture for a beach party on Monday; another guy who is doing his journalism degree asked me to transfer to something else as media, is a boring course to study. He sees every lecture is the same. My friend Casey (to be precise, my friend Shabrina's friend) who was in the same tut with me last year is also in this tut. As we sort of know each other, we had a good time talking to each other during speed dating. The mind mapping thing was the last thing we were assigned to do in this tut. Andrew, the tutor asked us to illustrate how we, each individual think about how media has changed the social and cultural patterns nowadays in relation to the theories we have learned so far. Then we needed to compare the similarities between these two mind maps, and to conclude what you have found from there. I was asked to explain because he saw my mind map goes quite complicated on the paper I have written. That moment when you thought that you wouldn't be picked to give a response, but he just approached you, his eyes were looking at you to expect a response from you. I felt perplexed for a second as he asked me if I am Yisha. Like what? You know who I am by only taking the roll once? Are you a form of surveillance at the back channel or something? Yes he is, he told us that he could see who has visited the media course at Moodle the most. Maybe I was one of the people that frequently go for a visit to check my outline, assessments and all that. Anyways, I had a glance at my paper, and gave him a response based on what I thought about 'media', this term means to me in a way that it totally has changed the way I connect with people both physically and technologically.
The last seminar I went was the 4pm one. I was at the same table with this beautiful ABC Jessie, this white guy Kai and a cute girl Natalie. Kai was partnered with me to practice our dialogs in Jap. We've learned how to bow when we greeted each other in different contexts. Speaking fluently in Jap is our goal in seminar so the tutor and the supporters who are also Japanese kept encouraging us to speak Jap as much as we can in the class. The ones who were late to the class had to say okuretesumimasen (sorry, I am late) before they came in. Same as to goodbye when we had to leave the class. It has given us every opportunity to improve which we enjoyed the most out of it in that 2 hours so we couldn't even feel that we had for that long.
So yeah...good time good time...except that I spent 2 hours to get home today after uni...I got on my bus at 6:30-ish but couldn't get home til 8:10-ish because traffic jam was happening in the city in that one hour. All the passengers were stuck on the bus blabbering how long it took us to get back to Central while I had my 40 minutes of nap nap time there lool
