Tree top adventure & Farewell dinner (29th of June)

Geezzz...After a few weeks of hectic life, I finally get to write up this blog post without any sort of interruption. This day has been the greatest in my holidays so far. Without pointing out there were two events held at the same day, isn't tree top adventure park enough to get you excited in the first place?

I really found that hell lots of fun having this trip with almost a bunch of strangers, and ended up knowing some of them. The only guy I knew from the beginning is Hongyi, who has been informing me every detail of this upcoming event. In the early morning, he was also the first person I met at IGA. I was surprised that I was actually the second person arrived there. Saying how late I am to whichever event I go, I'd say that was such an improvement to be on time. They all have known each other for almost a year or so, I didn't feel I was involved til this person, Jonathan walked up to me and introduced himself, as well as Hongyi's cousin Jeffrey sat next to me and telling me how scary tree top adventure is going to be like. During the long trip to get there, I was in Hongyi's car, sitting at the back with Jeffrey, who seemed a bit sleepy. I had my nap for almost an hour as well. Another two cars were going ahead of Hongyi's, because he needed someone to lead his way. Anyways, I didn't know who else was coming today, so I guess there must be our dearest president Sharon and the rest of the executives.

GPS isn't accurate all the time, and it happened today. Hongyi's GPS has made him even harder to look for the entry in that half an hour going around after one traffic jam caused the lost between three cars, he had to find his own way to get to another entry since the one that is supposedly to get in, is now blocked. His cousin made a few calls, another executive has sent him an image of their GPS. It was too weird that the GPS never led us to the right entry but trolling us all around, until this person, another executive asked him to follow his image, the path where it is seen to be misleading, is literally the right way to get there. Yes, it was really JUST the beginning of the adventure...

We put everything in the cars, including our personal belongings such as phone and watch. But then again, the assistant there recommended us to leave everything from our pockets as well. Also, any types of accessories have to been taken off. Including one of my friends' necklace, the one that he claimed it has been with him for almost 15 years lool Now it's the first time to leave it with somebody else. He had this goodbye kiss to his necklace as if they'd never see each other again, everyone else was laughing at how he's attached to it>.> In fact, I do get how he felt, as all my bracelets, including the rubber bands, are not allowed to be with me. Not to mention that my 100 bucks is also needed to put in a box...=3=

So my tree climbing journey has begun with a black badass cross mark on my hand, is used for the same function as an entry ticket or some sort lol Then the wearable helmet and gears all tightened up to ensure our safety, the trainer taught us the basic rules to avoid our collision when we climb. As safe as it sounds, the hook and the lock make the perfect match in this case. Why is that? Because the lock won't be unlocked until you get the hook up onto the magnet string. So to do that, both of the huge magnet thingy carry both roles of lock and hook for us to repeatedly going forward on the top. They've got these 4 levels to complete. Everyone has to start from the easiest one, which isn't easy at all when you are more than 20 meters away from the ground. Sometimes looking at how far you are away from the end, in which cost you at least 40 minutes to walk through without anyone's help. All you can do is to keep encouraging yourself not to be scared. Especially to me, who isn't close to anyone in the group. But I picked this challenge, and I got to accept everything that was coming.

I didn't know I could be that brave when all the girls were lining up at the back, and I pushed myself to be the second female, and fifth person out of the group to start climbing. I mean, out of a 12 or 13 people today, 5 girls including me, I really felt proud of myself to overcome my problem by making the first step. I didn't know it'd be even scarier when you actually experienced it. There was a few times where I was so much struggling to take my step off the platform, especially this first scariest walking path where there is only a rope between two platforms, you have to hold the rope in the air to balance yourself to get through. My hands have gone trembling a lot, even the person behind me knew how scared I was. Yet, it was impossible to get down once you start to take it to the end. I remember I was almost crying in front of that human resource coordinator who was all the way supporting me. He even lifted me up for one time to get my hook up on the string. He was there comforting me to slow down, don't look down and all that. All thanks to him, which I slowly reached the flying pan of level 1, and getting started with level 2.

My level 2 journey was less scarier, but much harder with lots of gripping, balancing, and more. There was this 8-meter web required you to climb from this side to another side in order to get to the next platform. It might sound easy than do. I mean, reason why I've overcome my problem is that solid objects are much easier to keep that balance as you step on it, no matter how insecure you feel, they hold your weight. However, for something like web which isn't fully attached to the edge of the platform, and it swings all the way through, is so much harder by gripping it tight with more force...It wasn't a great experience for me though I made it because I even tripped myself in the air halfway through it, then it left me literally hanging in the air for a few seconds...But lucky I survived all the way to the end of level 2 with the pain of my palms and some new bruises I got from banging my legs to the metal strings for couple times in accident.

So two hours have passed in this breath-taking journey of mine. Some did level 3, and some didn't. I didn't either due to the fact that my hands were just hurting so bad. Level 4 was close at 4-ish, so nobody got to try it at the end. I guess my greatest achievement for the day was accomplishing 2 levels like most of the people here. The peeps who had reached the end of level 3 were waiting for the ones who were on the other end ready for the flying pan. Once they were soon to be close to the end, the rest of us were all opening our arms to give each of them a warm hug. More importantly is that they needed a push to go uphill so the guys were being quite retarded sexually groping each other's butt for fun when indeed, they were trying to help.

After a day of climbing trees, we all felt exhausted. Hongyi suggested to take a few group photos before we headed back to Central. And another person even asked us to stay for a bit to have our half an hour of picnic time. Though I was really in a rush to attend my friend Joyce's farewell dinner, I waited for Hongyi and another two guys to finish their food first.

It took more than an hour to get back to where we are from, and the three of us at the back were all slowly falling asleep. By the time we all woke up, we were nearly there at Central. I quickly got off from the car after thanked Hongyi for the trip, only found out there is a trackwork at Illawara line when Babara and Jeffrey told me. Jeffrey then walked me to the bus stop, and went back to his line where he could get on the express one.

Another 40 minutes of travelling on the bus while having my box of fruits left today. I finally arrived at Allawah hotel, walked in and found those two huge long tables with more than 40 people sitting around, Joyce was in the middle chatting with her mates at that time. She was quite happy seeing me finally arrived to her party. She then approached me and asked how the tree adventure park was, which she was supposedly to go as well but she didn't due to her flight the next morning. I was warmly welcomed as she put me to sit with a few of her best friends from high school, as well as her best friend in church who seems to be super nice having this talk about love and forgiveness. Her church friend Jessie had a light talk with me about studies and ideal job etc. Then Jen, this girl was quite interested in what I am studying once Joyce told her about my major-media. She stuck with me all night long exchanging the ideas with me of how to make videos and all. And I ordered this chicken schnitzel dish, a huge one with lots of vegies around it. The girl next to me had been seeking for advice from Joyce's church friend so they went to another table and had their own time talking so deep about the issues.

I was dragged by Joyce, who also has this innate trait of being sheer retarded, to take weird photos together.  I saw how busy she had to talk to each person in turn. But even so, she didn't forget about me, this new friend who she only met for 5 times including tonight lol I was glad that she came to me for a few times asking me how this and that, taking quite a few photos with me, especially getting me involved to one of her most special photos, the one with Jen and I drinking this vodka together.

Joyce is really a lovely person I've ever known in uni. I'll miss her so much and looking forward to seeing her again next year :) Thanks for her gift-the little booklet which she made it by herself :3 It's just so sweet to make everyone happy. Particularly the letter at the back has brought me back with a lot of feels that I was once felt the same...It's been so good for the night. Hope she will have her good time in the US...PH will be waiting for you to come back!!
