Epic Vivid night (3rd of June)

*Today is the 6th of June, but here I'm updating the 3rd of June, 4 days ago:

I've never been to Kogarah this early, like 9ish. The time when I was still semi-awake but I already had to take her to the private hospital to do her final test. Dr Howiston, nice to see you again. One of the best doctors I've ever met as he doesn't only calm a patient down when they're worried, but also brings them so much joy. I'd say now she finally can let that go, her problem won't be a problem again. Thanks for Dr Chauhan recommending her to go private hospital, and thanks for Dr Howiston as well, for healing her :)

Before we left, the receptionist lady asked mum to sign on a sheet. And she complimented my green watch and asked me where to get it. That wasn't the first time people like my watch. A lot of people seem to like my watch as much as my blue platforms.

Sometimes I really like some aspects of living in Australia when it provides us with free services, people should all feel lucky having this guarantee to live healthily. On our way to the train station, she and I walked into a elegant store where it sells luxurious clothings. They are really the types I like, which are all about irregularities because I'm really into things that take the form or nature of weirdness.

Anyways, she went back home, whereas I headed to AIT to study for a bit before we met up again at 6ish at night. I was alone sitting at a corner doing my uni and AIT work in that 4 hours while a teacher was in charge of a studio class there. The background music was so loud in that student's video, the teacher managed to tell him to change that to another in order to get a higher mark. Several others went up to that teacher asking for some opinions towards their short clips. And there was this guy asking a friend of his, who was busy doing his work at that time, to go to the park with him for filming. He was going to reject, but seems like his friend had a really good offer which attracted him more when he said he'd introduce several sexy girls to him later on. lool....guys are guys...

My vivid night was awesome. In the beginning, I arrived at Circular Quay 20 minutes before the actual meeting time. I then went around the Rocks where it led me to some hidden places. This was my first time to go vivid with mum. Unlike the past a few years, I went with different people. But this time, mum persuaded me to go with her. It could be another great new experience spending such a colourful night with your mum right? :) The common ones such as Opera house projections is too prevalent and that majority people have seen them, so here, I won't be share those photos again. I've got my map from one of the information booths. So I followed the path to go from no.1 to no.56 in the sake of not to miss out any light projects in Vivid. Now, I'm going to introduce some other new places which people don't normally find their way to get there. I'm telling you....YOU ACTUALLY MISS OUT A LOT!!! Thank god for my enthusiasm and time consuming exploration in that 6 hours with mum, who also keen on searching, was really worth our time looking around. Though at the end of the day, our feet were sore, no food til almost 11-ish.

Anyways please enjoy looking at the following photos I've taken that night. Pictures worth thousand words, short captions will be offered you a great overview of what's in Vivid. AND don't forget to visit this amazing festival in Sydney if you come here one day :)

Firstly, a great view at Circular Quay where you are able to see this creativity of lighting and lasers, all coming together to decorate the beauty of the skyscrapers at CBD. Along with classic music playing at the background, has added a bit of surprise, entertainment and inspiration. For those like me who enjoy the nature of arts presented, will all be gratefully enjoying Filament storm..

Here is another picture of....ahhh....what's name of that building? =3= Light installation vividly covers the whole building every year. Same as before, one of the must-sees turns into one giant, visual spectacular. Vivid goers are allowed to take turns on the stage to try 'painting' the building as they dance with the pop music.

The TetraBIN is another great design which you throw a piece of cupboard inside the hole as the white object comes to the middle, then a new die will be soon dropped down on top of the built tower of dice. It doesn't sound much, but interaction the design has for us, has gathered a crowd of people within 10 minutes.

Other than the most common ones are viewed by millions of people. Now this is one place I discovered from the Rocks. It's named as 'Heaven's cloth', is one of my favourites. In here, you don't get to manipulate any latest technologies to see any different changes, but it produces you an extraordinary feeling here. The transparency you see through the nets is really heaven-like, various light changes once every a few seconds builds up a higher level of illusion..

Here is another image I took from the same place, 'Heaven's cloth'...hmmm if I don't remember it wrong, the light feature number is 20 something..

I took quite a few photos here. Mum even made a recording seeing me go hyper jumping around >.>

So this is called 'Positive feedback' I guess? The interaction they have there is as positive as its name lol You move, a wave of reflection will be projected on the screen. Easy and fun. Oh and btw, people might block your way if you stand too close, better to stand farther from the screen but close to the projector if you are short :) Because I've experienced that>.>

OK...no need to explain what this is. This design is pretty self-explanatory...I'd like to call it a 'cloudscene'

Another light projection covers the building...

Tetris on the wall..The formation of blocks changes according to where you stand at..I remember mum was like a kid trying to step on every square on that area so to see the changes.

Irregular artwork stands for pre-space if I remember it right. This might seem to be a boring piece of artwork to you. But for me, my aesthetic value is inclined to be the stillness you find from those which you see nothingness as somethingness.

I basically just think it's so beautiful in all dimensions as it displays. The optical illusion is something you should have when you land your eyes on it. Btw this light feature is at Walsh Bay. Right, I walked all the way from Opera House to Walsh Bay, dedication much~

Another favourite of mine, the 'LOL', really represented by 10 LOL faces. They react to any sounds they receive from people. They occasionally whistle when they are bored, and laugh when you laugh or keep making more noises. The more noises you make, the longer fun they have, the longer fun you have as well. Laughter is contagious!!
*Please click on the video I share at the end of this post. :)*

Yup...as this is the last light feature of the map, no.56...named as 'starry night'. Be the master of this year's universe!! Delightful interactive installation uses sensors to capture the liveness of your movements. Either you stand there still, spin around or arm out wave at something. Once you step in that area where it's activated, the motion of star formation will be generated by an algorithm based on how you move, how the waves go.

Lunar net somewhere close to Walsh Bay...Too damn beautiful. I couldn't even believe what my eyes have seen.

Now here comes with the interesting bit, the 'Graffiti me' demands you to get your face closer to the camera where it scans your facial features at a certain distance. Once the process is done, graffiti of your face will be projected on the wall. This is my face...Sometimes the entire face might not turn out as clear as it is, BUT the main feature of my face-my adorable eyes are recognizable :3

This is mum's, the iconic feature is her glasses lol...

During Vivid, make sure you don't miss out other great locations such as Martin place. The jungle, or a jungle-like projection is to depict the nature, the growth of plants and the mostly miniature figures.

This has something to do with Sydney Film Festival held at Martin place. I didn't get to see what happened as I went there late.

I've read that it represents a flower blooming in this winter...

Yup, my favourite as well!! The giant head is the reflection of your own face once you stick your face on the video feed. I made so many faces but they are too terrifying...so here is one of the images I took which I think it's alright-ish...less freaky I'd say? >.>... Ain't I cute? o3o

Plus this image was taken much earlier when I visited the Rocks, sorry my photos are a bit out of order. This is my favourite xD Basically you put something under the projector, your hand, the bottle, any sort of your personal belongings, as long as it fits. It then scans, and cut that image into a junk-like object, then you'll see it drop from the top of the screen right afterward. Sounds fun doesn't it? Go and try it before Vivid ends!!! A random funny fact: There was this white girl trying so hard to put her head under that projector but she failed lol

Lastly, 'LOL' face wooooooooooo~ Enjoy the 4 sec video :3 lol
