Talking about filming (16th of December)

The siege has finally came to the end. The two were being killed really made me go WTH is wrong with this world. Why don't these two people deserve a better life?? The beautiful lawyer and the manager...Two beautiful people were killed. You can hardly imagine how heart-breaking their families have felt there.

Due to this incident, she persuaded me not to go out today too. So I missed out my last class of screen editing before holidays start. I stayed at home and finally finished my 70 pictures of storyboard. In order to make an animation, storyboard is the one of the main things we should get it done for pre-production. I fixed bits by bits from my script based on the change of my storyboard. And I was also thinking whether I need to remove some parts as it might be a bit too long when I actually film it.

Anyways I had another deep talk with mum about life today. As in we had made some connection to the incident at Martin place. For this, she told me how each day goes by and that every second is important in making up the whole life. I really love the way she phrased it. Sometimes she could be really inspiring when she says something related to that.

Oh and yeh, the video I watched tonight is about year 12's reaction to their ATAR this year. I felt their disappointment or maybe happiness too. It drew me back to 3 years ago when I had mine. I was once disappointed because I didn't get to get in my first and second preferences..

The last video he linked me was made by the student he's been tutoring. I was really amazed of the techniques this kid used in his video. His crew must have been so great in cooperating with each other during the process. I could tell the depth of each shot was well-constructed. The selection of the shots and the way they edited the film really deepened the theme. Then later owner and I had a minor discussion on filming and such. He said he definitely would help me to recruit him if he's in uni. Sadly this kid is only doing yr12 next year or else I would try my best to have him in our team. Saying filming is hard. It indeed is hard. In my opinion, to shoot good footage at a right angle and have a good sense in how to capture a subject to reinforce the theme does require skills, since footage is really essential rather than effects. If the footage is originally not good as that, effects added to it is less persuasive in the visual representation. Hence, looking for skilful team members is not easy. They gotta have the technical sense of things, and some wisdom in feeling the abstract parts at the same time. Lastly, he is right. Everytime when my work or media related issues are mentioned, I will start feeling damn excited hahaaha... :3
