Tragic incident...(15th of December)

Our meeting finished short today. It was supposed to be a 2-hour meeting with the VP and the rest at UTS. In the beginning of the day, I even complained to owner that re-election would be made during this meeting for some reason. And later I couldn't find my way to that green room at UTS, so I gotta have a map from the general office and was directed to go there in a shortcut. Anyways, once I got there, I was told that the ISIS incident was happening at Martin place at that time. By checking all the relevant sites online, we were all shocked of that.

So instead of having a long meeting, we were asked to leave the uni, and we found spots at a cafe to discuss further details. Nikki and Bernhard were there too, to help us with something we need. My dear pre-director told me that she would help our promo group to do the promo video by the end of this year. Thanks guys :)

So the Martin place incident was a shock to everyone else. I wasn't hesitating to ask to leave early. I just wanted to go home asap. This critical moment is not a right time to stay out. And I gotta spend time with her instead of getting her worried about my safety.

By the time I got home, she didn't know anything so I told her what I heard. As soon as she knew what was going on to the city. More than thousands of people were gathering at Martin place due to the cancellation of public transportation and such. And the whole area was lockdown all in a sudden. Every piece of news in mum's eyes was pretty terrifying. She suddenly became moody when she showed her deepest sympathy to the hostages, she then sobbed and clung with me for almost half an hour telling me how life is short, and that we should cherish every second being with each other. Just by thinking about how the hostages would all be having the same wish to see the ones they love, yet they had no way out to do all these in such a situation, I shed some tears with her too. Throughout the whole day, we both were waiting for the updates once every half an hour on wechat. Though it has nothing to do with us, but we truly felt them and their families. We couldn't laugh or joke about anything, but fully talking about every update we saw and heard.

Even my dad was quite worrying about my safety. He called me from oversea asking where I was. Mum and his worriment had made me go teary at that moment. Seeing how much ones love you with the bottom of their hearts, I seriously think that I should keep myself safe not just for me, but for them. I really wish the hostages could be like us too, who they can also get back to their families, to spend an usual life with their love ones....
