This is a huge delay for 26th of Jan because now, it's the 10th of Feb here. I am soooo sorry that I haven't updated any of my blog posts these days since I was out almost everyday>.>
In short, straya day was with so much fun. I am telling you now. If you ever travel to Syd on its national day, push everything aside, and come to the city to walk around and enjoy all the activities there. You will find that worth a visit than anything else.
My day was with mum, who was also excited to enjoy this glorious day like every citizen did. We went to Hyde park first of all. The first thing we saw was a long queue at the entrance, where there were several ladies handing out food and drink. Same with anyone else, we went to line up for 15 mins and I took a picture of the long queue as for my future storytelling material. Right after we got two big bags of food and crispy toasts with beans inside, we found a spot and finished eating such a free yet yummy food before we went somewhere else. We then heard some noises from somewhere afar where we followed a crowd of people who led us to that man, who was playing drum and hitting bottles filled with different levels of water inside each of them, therefore it has formed a beautiful melody with this creativity. I even took out my phone and recorded him for a few minutes. Another moment that I remembered the most was I followed a bunch of people who danced along the whole park. To that happiness I got from celebrating such a special day that day, I joined them behind and that lady in red taught me how to dance simply while mum was right at the side recording every detail of me doing the same as them.
We went back to the large stage in the centre of Hyde Park to watch a few performances referring to the origin of Straya day back then. It was more like a children show in their way of storytelling, that's why there were more kids shouting and giggling while all the adults were being silent. Mum asked me to go and eat corns afterward. We walked around everywhere in case we missed anything and settled down beside the fountain. She took that box of corns out of her bag and we started eating. Also a few pictures were taken.
So basically we watched everything at Hyde Park. I suggested to go somewhere else afterward. Until then, we saw a guy whose charm attracted both of us once we walked by lool His remix was such a great thing to watch as he got all his work done by using a certain device to record his own beatboxing, integrating them all together, repeatedly playing them back while singing at the same time in such a short time. It was quite unique and hence, we stayed watching him for another 40 minutes or so.
Anyways...I have never thought of seeing that many antique cars in Australia until we found out straya day this year was also at the same day as the car exhibition loool You wouldn't be surprised when I tell you that we've taken such a big amount of pictures with all those coooooooollll cars displayed there. We even went to a bunch of good looking strangers and asked for a permission to take photos with them. Anyways, there was also a photo booth stall next to it, a lady was waving at us, and encouraging us to take free photos. Those two photos were so damn good I should say. They were much better than I thought they could be :) Next minute, mum asked to have a rest somewhere, so we went inside of that area, where there are so many seats around. An old Chinese couple arrived at the same time sitting at the same table as us. They then started talking to mum. Likewise I was right at the side studying how to use some tools of my new phone. I didn't ask her to go til she finished her interesting conversation with them because those two tourists have told her so much more about applying for travelling to Australia in a short period of time. It was something that she's been always wanting to know yet she couldn't~
Mum seemed too high and confident today with her high platforms on. She even bravely danced around that big painting on the wall when I recorded her. We finally found where those mini stickers on people's faces coming from. It was just right there, somewhere that close to Hyde Park. Both of us grabbed quite a few of them, used water to make them stick on our faces and arms. A common thing that most of the people did on that day. The only difference was we had more on our faces xD
The next destination was Darling harbour. She asked me to once again, record her when she did the cat walk loool Unlike the usual reserved her, she was so amusing and fun to watch hahah We found a spot where we could squeeze ourselves in to wait for the firework like everybody else. But then, she changed her mind after we waited there for more than half an hour. I was told that she wanted to grab some food first before the firework started in 2 hours. We then walked all the way to the other side, where the food court is located, and ordered two pieces of pizza that cost us less than what we thought we would spend. Being a caring mum as she's always been, she led my way this time in order to get away from the crowd. We tried to find a right spot where we could sit there for 2 hours of waiting, eating and chilling. We slowly and effortlessly walked to the front at the end xD weeeeeeeeee
During that two hours of waiting, we shared our greatest moment of taking as much selfies as we could. Also making another recording of our silly yet exciting sharing experience. Firework was worth the wait, as always. Another recording was made as it significantly reflected how proud of us being citizens in this country and celebrating for this day. If only there was a choice to get out of the crowd in that 40 minutes of pushing and squeezing after the firework, it'd have been a perfect perfect day lool But it was expected anyways. At least we stayed safe under the instruction of the police lool
Ok...here comes with the last thing that night :) On our way to home, a crowd of people were gathered at the front of a club were seen by us. Mum suggested to go and have a look. So we did, and we, as everyone else, became one of the crowd, crazily moving our bodies with the beats the music played. Even more amazingly to be mentioned was that I was dragged to go on the dance floor by mum, who wanted us to be even crazier lool The songs they played were all the ones I have listened to, or I used to like before. That must be the reason why I had such a feel to dance freely. No matter how much I reject to being a club fan, I seriously have to admit that I love integrating into that kind of environment that night. Shouting, clapping, jumping around and bumping into people's asses, linking arms with others, all these were just too incredibly fun to do, and to watch. Those three sexay yet super short phil girls, (as I could tell from their skin tone and height lool) who danced next to me randomly hooked up with another short guy that was intentionally approaching them in a way ;)
Straya day was just so amazing and fun for me to describe every detail we had haha xD Happy Birthday Australia :3
