I can't remember how long I haven't had this moment for being on time to events I go. Maybe this was the first time in a while...Yes, I made it on time to my uni friends' outing which three of us have organised it a week ago. I dressed like a fat penguin to see them both. Two of them were with open arms, ready to give me a big fat hug once I arrived. I finally got to see my lovely Doreen after almost a year of non-contact. The last time three of us went out was the Jap festival-Mazuri. I still remember her bf Ding was also the participants with us, but he is a super quiet person doesn't socialize with us that much. Anyways, back to the point, three of us went through this entry where we walked past a small cemetry nearby, surrounded by beautiful flowers, and carved stones with names on them. Never knew there'd be this place right behind the train station which leads us to the cinema if Haiwon didn't take us there today...
Before the actual film started, three of us went to the food court to get some food. They ordered their own dishes and shared some with me because I had already eaten. Haiwon was there with me talking about Ja Jang Myeon when she got her food after I told her that I just ate it a few days ago. After Doreen got her curry, she started bringing up her anime talk about pokemon and such, which I was left with 5 minutes of full silence and kept blinking, having no idea what they were on about. But amusingly I was still listening quite a bit seeing how much they were delighted all in a sudden from their sparkling eyes once they mentioned anime, I was smiling at both of them.
So the film has started a few minutes before we made it. And guess what? We had our own cinema watching Maleficent. Nobody else was inside but only three of us. We could pick wherever we wanted to sit...We laughed as loud and shared so much during movie time. The movie Maleficent is basically a sort of backstory fairytale. It unfolds the history of maleficent before she turns into an evil fairy by telling the audience how this horrible sort of truth, the betrayal disgusts and contaminates a complete purity of a heart. The film takes a step closer to the beauty of creation in captivating the young audience all over again by giving them new perspective of the evilness. Above all the special effects emergent in the film, and the most prominent feature-Angelina Jolie cheekbones, my comment to this film is that a person can both possess good and bad. However, I don't think that the story is well written with great suspense when everything becomes relatively predictable. It doesn't give me too much surprises such as true love, in this context, means maleficent's love towards Aurora when her kiss woke the sleeping beauty up. It doesn't matter how much special effects and all fascinate the spectators. Overall, it's Disney's production, how bad can it be? But giving more richness to things other than filmic elements, will seem to be more fundamental to our emotional resonance.
Movie time was over, we walked down to the next level and walked into morning glory. Can't remember who suggested to take sticker photos, but definitely we had so much fun doing cute poses and quickly moving around in its time limits which caused our poses looked even more weird when moments were captured at the bad timing. The fishy head photo was one epic failure, but we were lucky to have edited it afterwards. Another half an hour to edit the photos in turns, our photos turned out to be so damn colourful with variety of borders and characters. This was really a girl's thing to do....I only do this once in a while with my gf(s)...
Oh of course, Daiso at Chatswood is a good place to spend the rest of our time. Girls can never be tired of shopping, particularly shops like Daiso will only make you love shopping more. I didn't end up getting anything but they did. Even getting two boxes for Haiwon's stick figures are enough exciting for her. Doreen...well....she's even more exciting than ever. Lots of little items she needed for some unnamed purposes. You know girls...you get things for no reasons, the only reason you get it is that you like how good it looks, or you might know why, or once needed it but cannot remember when was that once you needed it....That was Doreen...My cosplayer friend needs so much more to decorate her costumes and all for the preparation for Smash...Then we kept talking about almost every item we saw in every row. There was a few times Haiwon was teased by two of us, she found it fun patting my head like her pet when I teased her..>.>
So yup...the last place we went was to have some snacks from the Korean store. They bought ice-creams and I only got my sushi roll to avoid having something cold as I was still sick. Doreen found her kali kali kun or some well-known ice-cream from Jap so she was all cheerful...Last talk on the train with them was really a 'last' talk before uni starts. I don't know when will be the next time having our little gathering. But thanks for the day you both, looking forward to seeing you really soon around uni!!
